- 2013-2014 Documentation by Nusāntara Consultancy:
Between Dec 2013 and April 2014, Jalan Kubor’s historical significance and the art and caligraphy of the gravestones were documented by a team formed under Nusāntara Consultancy led by Dr Imran bin Tajudeen. The documentation of over 7,000 gravestone pairs was made, though much work remains to be done. Perhaps the tallest grave in Jalan Kubor… we have yet to ascertain who lies buried beneath…

Bi-lingual, two-scripts: Arabic and Bugis lontara’ script. Photo from 2007. Today you can no longer read this, as the glass panel has been completely covered by green algae on its inner surface:
Update: this last gravestone is the grave of the Bugis merchant Haji Mohamad Said La Chongkeng bin Daeng Patompo’ – see article.
